Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role as an apprentice is to work on assignments and gain evidence for these through work i complete in my placements. In my placements i work to achieve my objectives and develop my knowledge, skills and behaviours.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my apprenticeship as i get to do 4 different placements which allows me to try 4 different roles and learn a wide variety of knowledge and build a strong network before exiting into the company.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes i have learnt lots of new skills throughout my apprenticeship like how to use different IT platforms, different processes within the company and how to take responsibility of my own work.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well structured as it has been running for many years now so the way in which it runs has been tested by many cohorts and perfected to their needs.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

On this scheme i receive a lot of support as there are many people that i can go to for different things e.g., skills coaches, function leader, placement manager, placement team and other apprentices.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The skills coaches are always there to help, assist and give any feedback on apprenticeship work that i have done so that i can ensure it is of a high standard and the best it can be.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Everything i learn and do for the apprenticeship aids in my placement roles as it gives me more knowledge that i can use, interpret and share allowing me to pick things up quicker due to having a little prior knowledge.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes the company offer lots of extra activities both work related and non work related and anyone can join in. For example they offer a run club and yoga classes for fitness and then stretch tasks and internal events for work related activities.

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?

Why?
I would definitely recommend an apprenticeship with BAE Systems as it is a great way for on the job learning while getting a qualification alongside this as well. I think apprentices get good exposure into the business and the jobs that are available there. I also think BAE Systems is a great company to work for as it offers a good work life balance and lots of incentives.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Apply for something that interests you and research the scheme you want to apply for to learn more about the potential jobs this scheme could lead to so you can gain an understanding if its something that interests you.
