Involves a lot of meetings with the project team and stakeholders. Lots of software based work and management of schedules, purchase orders and resource tracking.

Enjoying my development of knowledge and skills

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Learnt new skills on Excel, MSP, SAP and other softwares as my IT experience was very limited prior to starting. Developed my leadership skills and stakeholder management skills by talking to more people and getting involved in different processes with them in the project's context

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Could be better structured with more regular involvement from my learning provider. Would benefit with a weekly trip to college like other apprentices, instead have monthly masterclasses and then I'm more or less left to it. It's tricky as well with the course content being mostly coursework as it's hard to evidence a lot of my work. Would be better if the college course was just theoretical side of project management and whilst on the job I could just focus on learning what I'm doing, not having to worry about evidencing for college work.

My college tutor is really helpful and supportive but it just feels a bit disconnected as there's not much involvement from the college on the whole

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Has helped me to learn more project management theory and key terms which has increased my knowledge, and allowed me to apply that knowledge on the job
