Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

In my role I am mainly a BIM modeller, this involves taking markups from engineers and producing models and drawings from these. I also have contributed to some engineering tasks and produced some detailed background models which have been used as a background in drawings produced and created surfaces from topographical survey information.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy it very much! Every day is slightly different and varied in what I do.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes - I have learnt lots of new skills such as Autodesk and Microstation software which I had never used before. It has also helped me to develop my communication and confidence and become a more well rounded individual.

I receive as much support as I want and have a meeting every 6 weeks to look at progress.

Yes, sometimes. What I do with the training provider is not always linked but can be sometimes.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, there are loads of opportunities to get involved in from badminton afterwork to networking with directors and office 'lunch and learn' sessions. There is a designated social team which coordinate seasonal activities in the offices.
