Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at Arup?
I was helped to integrate and learn the basics of the role very quickly, with many opportunities to further my own knowledge and have agency in what I work on. Outside of lighting, the company provides learning opportunities in leadership/ self-awareness which have been very valuable to developing some career skills. There are also volunteering opportunities, the chance to work abroad in some situations and getting to meet colleagues from around the world is great.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Artificial Lighting: Designing lighting schemes in a variety of areas (i.e private clients, public realm ect), building relations with lighting manufacturers, doing lighting and emergency lighting calculations.
