Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I'm a machinist which involves learning how to use different machines like lathes, mills and surface grinders. and on a day to day basis i learn how to use a different machine and how to do certain job and learning how to read and do drawings.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

im really enjoying learning this new skill which is a good skill to have and isnt super easy which is good as it is challenging and i have fun while doing it.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

yes i have learnt a lot in these past months on how to operate these machine which a good amount of understanding and competency. just also when it comes to using different types of measuring equipment which i have never seen or used before and now can use them and understand the use of them and how to use them on my day to day

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

i can be very organised at time as training is always been offered to us and been told when it is happening before but sometimes their is a lack of organisation when we go to college and sometimes at company when we come and we don't know what we are doing that day and have to wait to be told what to do, but other than that i is not to bad and never feel like we are put to one side and we always are doing something after being told.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

we have a lot of support from when we need anything or have any quiestions they can alwasy help out and are theirif we need anything.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

yeah can also get the support with most things as if somebody doesnt know they will do what they can to find someone who will help you out and answers your quiestions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

i has helped me massively to learn all the basics of my job role and what it will entailed for my future.

i don't really know if we have any activities outside of work.

just make sure that you are willing to work in work overalls and you understand the conditions in the places that you will work in.
