Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Currently completing a Level 3 SEND Educational Teaching Assistant apprenticeship while working full-time to support students with a range of additional needs across KS3 and KS4. I provide structured 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN and SEMH needs, implementing tailored interventions to promote academic progress, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour. Apply advanced behaviour management strategies and support individual education plans in collaboration with teaching staff and the SENCO. Contribute to lesson adaptation, differentiated learning strategies, and targeted support plans to ensure inclusive classroom practice. I maintain a strong focus on safeguarding, student wellbeing, and creating a safe, consistent learning environment that enables young people to build confidence and resilience.

I am well supported by my training provider and trainer, I have the opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback during workshops. Also I am able to email him with any other questions I have.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Through doing this apprenticeship I am performing better in my role because I feel I have a better understanding of certain aspects, such as behaviour management.
