Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

- Teams calls with local stakeholders for different projects
- Projects include relocations, renewals, site acquisitions
- Putting together business cases, financial analysis, undergoing negotiations
- Reaching out to stakeholders regarding upcoming critical dates
- Team meetings
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Since starting my apprenticeship I have progressed so much and my confidence has significantly increased. I love the work that I am doing and how no day is the same. I am always facing new challenges and learning which is great.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes I have learnt lots of new skills since starting at AstraZeneca from very basic such as setting up meetings to learning our global real estate process and now leading projects all over the world.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My program is very well organised. I have one study day per week and I have had a plan for my apprenticeship laid out which is great.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive lots of support, I feel very included in the team. When I first started I was given a "buddy" which is a current apprentice that was able to support you when first starting. I also have regular meetings with my manager to check in and raise any concerns etc.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I receive support from them but not as much as I would of hoped as it can be difficult when trying to balance your time.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I think it does help but I think the majority I learn is through the role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are lots to get involved in. I am a member of our early careers group AZ Inspire and I am the social rep so I regularly put events on where you can meet different people across the company and have fun outside of work. There is also the apprenticeship committee and they host events when you first start and throughout your apprenticeship.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend AstraZeneca to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a great place to work. The people are very nice, supportive and want you to thrive. You learn so much on your program, I have got so much experience at such an early age.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AstraZeneca?
Ensure you link everything back to AZ values. Showcase what you have done outside of school as much as possible and how the skills you currently have will help you in the job you are applying for
