Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Everything you might expect form a Software engineering job working in Scrum, with realistic expectations for a junior.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Support could have been better at the start of the job and team placement could have definitely been better, but that's probably because I'm stubborn. Nothing the employer wouldn't accomodate had I said something. Minus points for tons of 'paperwork' for evidencing what I actually did.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Tons. New programming languages, CI/CD, Cyber security, etc.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
External training was great, day-to-day the apprenticeship felt mostly like recording what I did in the day job.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Unfair to rate the employer on my stubbornness :) I was always supported when I asked.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
All that is needed. I got a personalized approach that worked for me.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification doesn't, but the skills gained do.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Charity, occasional nights out, meetups and conferences. Tons

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Lloyds Banking Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Not ideal, but still the best employer I had. For me it was about the people, not the entity. Pay is decent. culture doesn't suck.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
Read the company values, prepare for 100 of the most common interview questions and put all your answers through the lens of said company values. Skills are easier to teach than fixing a personality.
