Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am a Data Analyst Apprentice within the Homes Platform, supporting teams by using data to understand performance and identify trends. On a day‑to‑day basis, I work with data using tools such as Excel and SQL to extract, analyse, and present insights that support business decisions. Alongside this, I collaborate with colleagues, attend team meetings, and apply what I learn through my apprenticeship training to real‑world tasks, helping me develop both my technical and professional skills.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy my programme. It allows me to learn new technical skills and apply them directly to my role, which makes the learning feel meaningful and motivating. I particularly value the balance between structured learning and hands‑on experience, as well as the support I receive from my team while I continue to develop my confidence and capability.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt new skills and developed existing ones. I have strengthened my technical skills, particularly in Excel and SQL, and improved my ability to analyse data and identify trends. I have also developed my communication, problem‑solving, and confidence when working with stakeholders and explaining data insights.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme is well organised and clearly structured. There is a good balance between on‑the‑job learning and off‑the‑job training, which helps me apply what I learn in practice. Having clear milestones and regular support makes it easier to stay on track and understand what is expected at each stage.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a good level of support from my employer. My manager and colleagues are approachable and willing to help, whether that is through regular check‑ins, guidance on tasks, or taking time to explain concepts when needed. This support has helped me build confidence and progress effectively through my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive good support from my training provider while working towards my qualifications. They provide structured learning materials, regular check‑ins, and guidance on assessments, which helps me stay on track and understand what is expected. Support is available when needed, which makes the learning manageable alongside my role.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My qualification supports me well in performing better in my role. The learning from my training provider helps strengthen my understanding of data concepts and tools, which I can apply directly to my day‑to‑day tasks. This has improved my confidence, analytical thinking, and ability to contribute more effectively within my team.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there are a range of extra‑curricular activities available at work. These include social and wellbeing events, professional networking opportunities, and employee networks, which allow colleagues to connect, share experiences, and get involved beyond their day‑to‑day roles. Taking part in these activities helps build relationships, develop confidence, and feel more engaged with the wider organisation.
