Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I'm only six months into my apprenticeship, so still learning... However, so far the role see me supporting the procurement function in the business. This can be assessing, auditing and vetting suppliers, while as part of the wider security function - educating colleagues and suppliers about cyber security, best practice frameworks and hoe to implement them.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
It's challenging and interesting. The learning material is great and I have enough time to complete my assignments.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Almost everything is new. I feel like I've learnt a huge amount in only a short amount of time.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It's very well organised. I have a clear time for day to day work and also for apprenticeship study. My lessons are at regular times and I have what's expected from me as output, scheduled in over the next 12 months.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I couldn't ask for more. They are very strict about ensuring I have my study/assignment time allocated and separated from day to day work. We are encouraged to work from home (if we want and have the resources), so as not to get distracted.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Really great. I have a tutor delivering lessons and a second taking care of my progress and welfare. I did fall behind with my assignments for personal reasons. The training provider offered lots of support to get me back on track.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
100% they complement each other perfectly.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Plenty of social events available and we have may communities available through internal channels.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Thales to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I've worked for a number of organisations - some small and some large. I haven't worked for a company like this though. They seem, right from the start, to genuinely care and want to support their graduates and apprentices (and other staff too ;-) ). I did think it might be too good to be true and suddenly change when I actually started, but I'm pleased to say it continues! I feel very supported, valued and welcomed to this very interesting organisation.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Thales?
Do your homework, be curious, be yourself.
