Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at Thales?
Great Graduate Scheme model. A lot of space to grow and develop during first few years. Opportunity to relocate to any of the UK site, and understand different businesses, as well as roles.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
The first year, I worked as a solution architect, writing documents, attending various bid meetings, and architecting system design. Currently, I work as an AI engineer, integrating AI into Thales's product and system to increase the efficiency.

I had opportunities to work in different project and continually contribute and grow within my team.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

The graduate scheme payment is fixed, and the compensation increases generously as I gain yearly experience.

Thales provides free MSc during the graduate scheme, that allow us graduate to develop at an increased pace and has helped me tremendously to settle within my role.

How is the support you receive?

There is a great support culture within the organisation. Mentorship, and coaching is readily available, and any support required, personal or professional is only few messages away.
How is your work-life balance?

Working 3 days in site and 2 days at home is a great practise. I am not expected to work outside of work hours, and have been able to balance work-life without any issues.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

Graduates have a community and voice. General atmosphere and colleagues around the site are very helpful, and have always helped me above and beyond.
How would you rate Thales initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

They have excellent policies in place to ensure that everyone feel welcome and included.
How would you rate Thales CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

I have personally created volunteering events, and as graduate we are given a generous amount of volunteering hours. Thales promote CSR internally, and I have partaken in many of them.

It is a great place to start, whether if you are graduate, or experienced.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

I was unsure of what to expect, but the workplace is better than many of my previous jobs.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Thales?
Prepare in advanced; soft skills matter a lot more than university grades, so ensure that you are well prepared on both technical and personal level.
