Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As an events apprentice, my role involves supporting the Event Managers and wider team, helping to deliver a wide range of events and being the key admin support on the team.
I have a wide range of responsibilities in my role such as, managing RSVPs and relaying information back to client strategy teams, managing overtime staff and operations forms for events, taking ownership and managing small-scale events, keeping our team diary and calendars up to date, assisting at events with check-in/cloakroom and with other ad-hoc tasks, supporting with invoices and communicating with suppliers.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship withing the events team at Christie's. Events at Christie's are unique in the way that we work alongside a vast number of departments (e.g. marketing, operations, art departments, chairmen's office etc.) and I love seeing a project through from start to finish and getting involved at all stages of the planning. The team are extremely supportive and friendly, and have given me so many opportunities to get involved with their projects and progress with increasing responsibility.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Every month I have one group training session/lesson and I am given a number of follow-up tasks relevant wo what we have learnt. I also have a monthly 1-1 with my tutor to discuss my progress and any questions or concerns. The training provider offer so much support with my study, as well as offering mental health support systems to those who may need them.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The L3 Events Assistant Apprenticeship is very relevant to my role and has helped me to improve my understanding of events on a wider scale, which has helped me to perform better in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are a number of ED&I and networking groups, and opportunities such as charity fairs and running clubs.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Christie's to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Since I began my apprenticeship here in August, I have thoroughly enjoyed working at such a diverse, interesting and passionate company. I have met so many friendly and engaging people in the company, and joining with approx. 30 apprentices enabled me to make friends who are all at the same stage of their careers as me, and it has offered me the opportunity to learn more about heir departments and roles. Furthermore, I love learning more about the art world and playing a part in making our auction successful has been a highlight.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Christie's?
Just be yourself throughout the entire process. Christie's are looking for genuine and passionate people who are keen to learn and grow in the buissiness.
