Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I have weekly webinars for my training, and other than that I have lots of calls with my team, as well as calls with new opportunities for apprentices.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy it as I get all the support I need, but also have independence and have to be resourceful.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I learnt to be a lot more confident when talking about what I am working on and having to describe my work in a technical and non-technical way.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is led by an outside company that works with the bank. The training staff is very good and helpful, but the website used for finding the resources from the webinar is a bit iffy.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Whenever there are any issues that are raised both Lloyds and the training provider had a solution and made me feel comfortable raising any issues or concerns.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
They have a phone number we can call at any time 24/7 if we have any issues, and the coaches schedule monthly calls with each apprentice to check up on them. There is also a monthly check-in form that we fill in and if any of your answers are a bit questionable your coach sends an email checking in and asking if you want to talk about it.
Work wise, if our team wasn't giving us work we could use for our portfolios to count towards our qualification they would get it sorted for us. They also run extra support sessions for people who didn't really understand the webinar to give them more support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
They teach us how to code that can be used within the workplace, as well as databases, and processes used for projects that we can use within our work teams.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I do a lot of volunteering with college students. I get to do this all over the UK, not just in London. I have been to Bristol and Manchester to volunteer, whether they students come to the Lloyds office or we go to the college/school.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Lloyds Banking Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Good salary, amazing experience.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
Be yourself, be original, don't say what you think they want to hear. You don't need coding experience to be a L4 Software Engineer Apprentice, just the willingness to learn.
