Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

i rotate on 15-20 week placements within the engineering departments in the business, this builds skills related to university and technical training, we also undertake volunteering annually and frequent apprentice only collaborative projects
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

amazing, the support is above and beyond with such caring colleagues and more senior individuals, there is a real care for apprentices within the business. Everyone is incredibly welcoming and i enjoy it greatly

yes, the job is suitable challenging with specific tailoring of placements to individuals by my functional manager.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

the working side of the apprenticeship is excellent, however the university lets it down with poor planning and communication, the lecturers frequently disregard apprentice issue and conflicts, it is a shame when the employer support is so substantial.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

the support is amazing, there is a great understanding for personal conflicts and commitments, with ad-hoc WFH arrangements, the contacts within the company for peer-support, mentoring, counselling and OH are always available.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

we receive plenty of support and arrangements to ensure we have sufficient time to complete coursework and revise for exams
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

there is excellent support and all working placements correspond well to university learning
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

yes, the company has many societies and sports teams and ERGs, whilst als facilitating external trips and events and internal networking opportunities
