Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Post sale deal with clients after a sale has ended. Or aim is for a smooth transition as soon as the hammer drops to the day the artwork is delivered to the client. We liaise with shippers to pick up lots as well as deal with any post-sale related client queries.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I love working at Christies, and with the apprenticeship it really helps me to improve my organisation skills and time management as I am learning how to balance study and work life, as well as navigating time for fun!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have definitely improved my communication skills, since Christie's is very friendly and there are so many people to meet! My organisation skills have also been enhanced since doing this level 3 business admin apprenticeship as I have learnt how to effectively manage my time, to ensure that i finish both my work and apprentice tasks.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I have a study day once a week, which gives me more than enough time to complete all relevant tasks.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My manager makes sure that I take my study day so that I don't fall behind on any workload. I also feel very welcomed in my team and I have a lot of support from all my colleagues, we are all very close and do activities after work, so I feel comfortable if I ever needed o raise something to them.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider is super helpful when it comes to answering any questions that I may have regarding the tasks provided. We also have a monthly check in where we can raise any problems if we have any.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification helps me to perform better in my role, as it equips me with all the necessary skills needed to succeed in the workplace. I have learnt many tools to use when it comes to problem solving, making decisions, brain - storming - all of which are very useful in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have apprenticeship socials frequently, where we get together with all the other apprentices in my cohort and are able to catch up outside of work. My team also frequently do pub-quizzes which is a great way to bond with my colleagues. At Christie's there are also a variety of different activities or networks to get involved in, from sports day to being a member of the Green Team and doing a CSR day together to litter pick in the surrounding areas.

Why?
Christie's is such a welcoming company, where you can meet so many different people, and it is a great way to Network. They also give you so many opportunities to learn new skills, with the free training courses that they provide as well as being able to shadow different departments within the company to learn about what they do and how they work.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Christie's?
Be yourself, and don't be afraid of putting yourself outside of your comfort zone. Christie's would be there to support you at each step of our career.
