Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am able to be involved in a large range of tasks including: arranging shipping, generating contracts, organising photography, organising condition reports, making factsheets, working on private sales, expenses for specialists, and more.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I absolutely love it, I have an amzing team and an incredibly supportive manager. I genuinely feel that I am learning more than I would at University while in the office. The community the apprentices all have together is great, and there is a real sense that everyone is rooting for you to succeed. However, the actual proccess of starting my apprenticeship scheme was delayed by a significant amount of time which was a slight inconvienience, as a result I am a few months behind the other apprentices and my contract may be getting extended. I understand this was out of the control of Christie's and don't fault the company at all but some more communication and clarity may have been appreciated.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I am comfortable with a large range of Christie's specific applications and have improved my profficiency with Office 365. I have also generally benefitted from being in an office environment and feel my confidence in taking calls/meetings has grown.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I would say the actual apprenticeship side has some issues in terms of being delayed and the limited communication we received. However, my cohort were an exceptional situation as we were the first who were meant to enroll in the 'art market' apprenticeship. There were circumstances out of the control of Christie's, but there was some disappointment that after waiting since the start of the apprenticeship only to find out this January that we were going to be put on a buissness admin course.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Everyone is incredibly supportive, you are treated as a capable employee while also receiving mple support and guidence.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
As I mentioned previously the art apprentices have not yet started their apprenticeship course so I can't comment.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
As I mentioned previously the art apprentices have not yet started their apprenticeship course so I can't comment.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are a huge range. We have more casual fun events for just the apprentices, and also have the opportunity to attend more formal events such as gallery walkthroughs, lectures, cultural events, panel discussions, wine tasting, auctions, etc.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Christie's to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have no regrets in choosing Christie's and deffering my University offer. I have finantial security, access to spaces and connections which never would have been possible at University. I am networking and learning on the job and am constantly impressed by the people I work with.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Christie's?
Evaluate your interests and make sure that you are ready to get the most out of the apprenticeship as you can and work hard. It helps to be passionate about something which relates to the department you have an interest in. Before you apply it is a good idea to research the different departments at Christie's and put some time into deciding whihc appeal to you and your interests/skills.
