Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As a systems engineering apprentice I am required to work on projects throughout their entire lifecycle, this means I can be working on anything from requirements derivation through to testing and delivery to the customer. I have been primarily focused on electrical and electronic engineering currently throughout my time on the apprenticeship.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
For the most part my apprenticeship programme is enjoyable; I've been given opportunities to complete work off-site and have attended events representing the company. Most of the work I have been doing has been relevant and enjoyable however there are some tasks which seem to be tedious and long-winded, but this is to be expected as an apprentice.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Over the last few years on my apprenticeship I have definitely developed some new skills which have added to my personal development. One key skill is my organisational skills which have massively increased. I have also developed my communication skills, whether this be talking to a customer or team members.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The program started off very poorly structured, this was down to the training provider and some of their staff, in recent times things have improved and so has the course structure
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Support is always available from people at the workplace
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
As previously mentioned, the training provider started off poorly-structured with some staff members who couldn't offer the best support. However this has improved and I am now confident in the support provided
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My qualification and my job role are not an exact match, however there are elements of my qualification which can be seen in my day-to-day work and so because of this I can say that my qualification does somewhat help in my job role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, I take part in a football event every week and attend some socials when they interest me
