Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Your role changes throughout the apprenticeship as you undertake several placements, each lasting 4-6 months and in different teams/departments. Although the specific day-to-day tasks are different, every role as a technician involves using, creating and editing technical documents. More often than not you will be assisting your assigned manager with their work and learning the working practices for the team you are in.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Personally, I have really enjoyed my time on the program. Being involved with, and exposed to some of the most advanced human engineering in existence is exciting for anyone with even the slightest interest in engineering. On the down side some aspects regarding the early careers organisation have been somewhat of a let down, however these are always being looked into and improved as time goes on.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt so much since starting my apprenticeship. The most prevalent area I have developed skills in is using different computer software to complete work. I have also developed interpersonal skills and technical document writing.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
It has not been the most organised for my intake but this is being improved on.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support I have received has been nothing short of amazing. I have been through a difficult time in my life during my apprenticeship and I have always been supported throughout.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The skills coach team have been brilliant with helping me towards my qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The most valuable thing I have gained throughout the qualification is on the job placements. College units have not really been directly applicable to my role until starting Aerodynamics and Mechanical Systems on HNC.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are many extra-curricular activities to get involved in.
