Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role includes preparing meeting documents for the advisers completing annual reviews and general appointments with clients. Administering clients pension/ISA transfers, withdrawals etc and producing a suitability report for some of these types of business.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy the programme, the work life is amazing, we have mass amounts of support and a great working environment.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I entered this role with no experience, my only job had been in McDonalds! I have learnt everything I know in this role. Progressing from an apprentice administrator for 18 months, to a Senior Financial Planning Assistant to then a client services specialist team leader going through another apprenticeship to achieve my Diploma in Financial services.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
We have 4 other apprentices within the business who all follow the same structure. The apprenticeship is well structured and then followed by training within the role all ties in nicely.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer is extremely supportive, we have monthly check ins where we discuss any concerns or any work coming up that may affect our day to day role. We are given time to study and work on our apprenticeship assignments. Anything that we need, we can approach our employer and we know we will receive friendly support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider is great, we have monthly check ins and tutorials where our dedicated coach will work through our assignments with us and answer any queries we have. Approaching our exams we have 3 day workshops which are purely exam focused.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I build knowledge through our sessions, the training material and assignments I am set. This all helped broaden my knowledge within the workplace. I could even talk to my coach about work I am completing and have the technical concept of it explained in a way I would understand!
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
We have a summer social each year, with coffee mornings and social gatherings dotted around the year.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Pocock Sanders Ltd to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend Pocock Sanders Ltd because it’s a company that genuinely invests in its people. From the moment I joined as a Level 3 apprentice, I’ve been supported, encouraged, and given opportunities to grow both professionally and personally. The culture here is one where hard work is recognised, development is taken seriously, and progression is achievable for anyone who is willing to put in the effort. Overall, it’s a company that not only gives you the tools to succeed but also the trust and opportunities to put them into practice. For anyone looking to build a career in financial services with strong support and real progression, I couldn’t recommend it more.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pocock Sanders Ltd?
My biggest piece of advice is to make the most of the support available. Pocock Sanders Ltd is full of people who are willing to help, so don’t be afraid to ask questions, seek guidance, or check your understanding. The more you engage, the more confident you’ll become.
