Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I started off my apprenticeship by completing meeting prep (file prep) which included creating portfolio performance reports , using main provider platforms and communicating with them over the phone , doing the full range of administrative tasks ranging from simple ISA withdrawals to big pension consolidations and life cover with trusts. To then being exposed to moderate levels of paraplanning. I also was given the chance to be an advisers conduit. Along with also being involved / leading ideas to how we could improve business processes.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
There was never a day over my apprenticeship where I dreaded coming into work, which in my opinion is the key to success in a work place. Everyone at Pocock Sanders welcomed me in warmly and I felt very much part of the team from an early stage. I felt as a young apprentice people did not let me off loose, I was always looked after and gradually exposed to the working environment whilst also being pushed to reach my highest potential I never thought I had.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
The list of skills I have learnt is endless.
I can now confidently discuss this industry's main talking points knowing I understand what people are talking about.
I can speak confidently on the phone to clients and other providers, challenging such providers when information is not quite correct.
I can complete all ranges of administrative support to a financial adviser (meeting preparations , financial admin and shortened paraplanning)
I can confidently work in an office working at a strong pace for each different scenario
I can lead meetings and discuss powerpoints with a team of 6-10 people confidently
I can speak up in team discussions confidently
I can work in a team
the skills and knowledge I have gained from the workplace has helped me pass high levelled financial exams which help me work towards a diploma in financial planning.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My apprenticeship was extremely structured and well organised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support I received from my employer throughout the apprenticeship was amazing, I simply would not have been able to achieve a distinction at the end without their endless support.
My distinction is a credit to them as much as my own work, due to the environments I was supported and trusted to be involved in.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider arranged monthly catchups on progress throughout and were extremely supportive for the End Point Assessment
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification helps me perform to the highest standard I can in my role. As stated before I was exposed to all areas of work throughout gaining valuable experience which helps massively.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are no extra activities to get involved in. We do have a Christmas social event.
