Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As an Apprentice in Transaction Management, I support the delivery of property transactions across the acquisition and disposal lifecycle, working closely with surveyors, agents, solicitors, and internal stakeholders. My role focuses on providing effective coordination, analysis, and administrative support to ensure transactions progress efficiently, compliantly, and in line with client objectives.
On a day-to-day basis, I assist with the preparation and management of transaction documentation, including heads of terms, fee proposals, marketing materials, and internal approval papers. I help maintain accurate records of transactions, track key milestones, and ensure deadlines are met by proactively monitoring progress and following up with relevant parties.
I regularly support market research and property analysis by gathering comparable evidence, reviewing lease documentation, and assisting with financial appraisals and summaries. This helps inform strategic decision-making and ensures advice provided to clients is well‑supported and commercially sound.
A key part of my role involves liaising with external consultants such as solicitors, agents, and managing agents to coordinate information flow and resolve queries. Internally, I work closely with senior surveyors and other service lines to ensure transactions align with wider asset management, valuation, and client strategies.
In addition, I support compliance and governance processes by assisting with due diligence checks, anti‑money laundering procedures, and internal reporting requirements. I also use property management and transaction systems to update records, produce reports, and support management information.
Alongside my transactional responsibilities, I am developing my technical knowledge and professional competencies through on‑the‑job learning, formal apprenticeship training, and supervision from senior colleagues, building a strong foundation for progression within the surveying and transaction management profession.
