Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work in the C&I arm of NatWest and my role is to work on deals for CMM customers as part of a wider team.
Day-to-day varies, may include writing up sections of credit papers, conduct market / business research as part of a deal proposal, contribute to slide decks, support on presenting to customers / advisors.
No day is the same, every day is interesting and challenging.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Debt capacity analysis, financial reviews and being able to competently extrapolate necessary data out of large blocks of irrelevant context.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
the apprenticeship itself is well structured.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Line Managers are clearly guided and ensure appropriate time is provided to complete apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
As much as needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
It gives a good idea of the industry, although it could do more in terms of actually linking to roles. However, there's so many different roles and avenues in the sector I understand why it's not as applicable as perhaps hoped.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes. You gain as much from these as you put in.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NatWest Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Great place to work, challenged to improve and grow. Morally upstanding compared to competitors in the market.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
They look for personality - not just knowledge. If you know everything that's great but if you don't make an effort in terms of with other people then you're missing half the skillset required.
