Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Troubleshooting and helping out senior members with their tasks - this could range from technical to non-technical. There is also a lot of learning involved, which happens 4-5 days a week, if possible also including the tasks given via firebrand.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I very much enjoyed the apprenticeship as I got to travel and gain experiences I never thought I would. I was also pushed to do better and improve my skills, whether I already had them or not.
I also got qualifications and felt quite accomplished with every improvement I made. I found some parts very challenging, but I always knew I could reach out to my learning mentor or a colleague for help.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I learnt how to communicate better and have more confidence in myself and what I am doing, while making friends too. I also improved my writing skills and maths too, while finding better and different ways to learning as well!

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I feel some parts could have been organised better from firebrand as I spent some time not being given any work from them and suddenly it's a bit of a rush to get it done. However Nearer to the end it felt better and felt a bit more organised/in more of a routine.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I received a good amount of support from my employer especially if I was stuck on something I would receive the support I was asking for.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I received a good amount of support in my learning, and as an individual as well, the learning material could have been better and a bit less boring, albeit they do not usually go hand in hand.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Some of the learning material I felt did not help me as much, although others I still use day-to-day, such as the OSI model and Subnetting.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are a lot of extra events going on, which you can sign up for to volunteer for and some social events too, around the year.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Computacenter to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The apprenticeship has propelled me to a more professional level and has helped me with confidence inside and outside of the workplace. I would recommend Computacenter for an apprenticeship if you want to gain work skills and knowledge, but also gain social and other skills you would not know you had.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Computacenter?
Being yourself and being confident.
