Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My day to day role involves troubleshooting issues other collegues are experincing with the technology my team manages aswell as working on large scale projects modernising the banks infrastructure. I help automate different services using code and pipelines. Once a week i have a 2 hour taught apprenticeship session where we complete work modules and learn new skills. I also have other set apprenticeship work which i complete alongside my job
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
The apprenticeship has allowed me to develop a wide range of skills as well as develop existing skills. In my spare time i do a lot of programming and messing with networks on personal projects, being able to go to work learn new skills and then apply them in the real world and on hobbys is brilliant. Hands on learning beats classroom learning in my opinion.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My team and LBG as a whole are very supportive throughout the entire program. There are networks of apprentices and graduates you can connect with as well as a dedicated team to supporting apprentices.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
Some apprenticeship sessions seem rushed and non interactive. Support exists from your training provider coaches however it isn't clear what is required of you. So far i have only completed one Portfolio in which i struggled aligning to the KSBs (Knowledge Skills Behaviours) of the program and linking it to my day to day work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I am in a primarily Cyber Security based role so some of the skills in the apprenticeship which is aimed at software rarely gets used.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Within the organisation there is a wide range of events to get involved with. Within my business area we have regular hackathons to build new skills and meet new people.
