Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
The role involves a mixture of being in the office and on site. You get to see a project at different stages and get experience in most sections such as planning, commercial aspects and design.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
You couldn't get a better workplace environment, everyone is so welcoming and makes you feel like a valued member of the team no matter how much experience you have coming in. Anyone will try their best to help if they can and the managers are fantastic. As an apprentice, I have felt fully supported at every stage with the people I work with and the resources BAM offers.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Before I started there were a lot of topics I was unsure of, but at BAM you have the support system of managers, colleagues and other apprentices to help you gain so many new skills. Everyone I have worked with has emphasised and shown how much they want me to progress in my career.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programmes duration is 5 years in total and you are given a clear progression path throughout the apprenticeship so you understand exactly what goals you need to achieve. There is a very good mix of on the job experience and coursework so you never feel too overwhelmed.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
One of the best aspects is how supported you are. There is always someone who is willing to help you out no matter what the issue or question is. There are many resources in place so that you always feel supported.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The training provider checks in with your progress monthly and you are given a clear plan of what you need to do in order to achieve the qualifications.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification helps with having a bit of a better understanding about my role and encourages me to gain experiences in many different sectors of construction in order to meet the requirements.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
BAM offer a sports and social club where you get to do activities and network with other members of the team outside of work. There are also many networking events throughout the year so you can understand what is happening in the business.
