Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
It was a mix of branch days and training days where I had to travel to Chelmsford, at first there are more training days (2 days per week, the other 3 in branch). Then it moves onto full time in branch with the odd training day here and there. In branch you are doing the travel consultant role while shadowing and being over looked by colleagues to make sure you are doing correctly. The training days are like being in a class room and go towards your qualification hours
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoyed the branch days but not the training, think the training could be more relevant to the role, for instance more tourism knowledge rather than geographical, resort knowledge for instance and how to get around a destination

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learned so much but mainly from my time in branch and my colleagues

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
you know your training days far in advance so is helpful
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I got a lot of support from my L&D coach, manager and my colleagues
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
same as above
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think the role requires a lot of learning as you go but elements of the training were helpful
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
yes a lot of professional networking if you want to get involved, definitely worth it

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Hays Travel to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I can't speak for all branches but my branch is fab, supportive an enjoyable environment to work in and we are quite a busy store which is great
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Hays Travel?
If you are wanting to work in a travel agency I would say Hays are the best one to start at from what I have heard about some of the other agencies
