Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I am assisting in an ongoing project, this involves writing protocols, undergoing testing and writing up reports of the tests.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I would be responsible for running tests that were very important to the project, additionally the chemicals and samples I used were expensive/limited so accuracy was a great importance

I have received training in specific testing, I have enriched my protocol and report writing by using specific language. I have enriched my laboratory skills and I'm more comfortable in using specific equipment such as pipettes.

A lot. I would work side by side with a microbiology technician who was very involved in the project so I could work in full confidence
