Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Software Engineering, involving improving old code, testing it and implementing it onto computers following company procedures and standards.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I sometimes enjoy my role but a lot of the time the work can be boring or hard to get into due to the nature of it, meaning I have found it hard to understand certain systems or code.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a lot about version control and change management of code repositories, testing procedures and implementation as well as networking across computers.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Quite well-structured to balance university and work, with 1 day a week being dedicated to uni. Each year is spent in a different placement to improve my breadth of knowledge, skills and experience.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support, though communication between uni and work could be better, and communications to myself from my employer about my course and day-to-day to work always seems to change and so can be confusing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
A fair amount of support is available and offered.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
So far I have found little crossover of skills and knowledge between university and work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are various opportunities for extra-curricular activities, such as taking a role in the Apprentice committee, attending outreach events at local schools or career fairs etc.
