Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Key elements of my role as a project management degree apprentice include liaising with internal and external stakeholders, creating project management plans, presenting in sessions, creating project schedules and managing project risks and opportunities.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship and the variety that every day brings. The programme provides a great opportunity to develop both personally/professionally whilst obtaining a degree and working for a reputable organisation.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed a wide range of skills during my time on the apprenticeship scheme. The key areas that I feel I have progressed in include my professionalism, confidence and stakeholder management skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I feel as if the programme is extremely well structured. During term-time, apprentices attend university one day per week and placement four days per week. This provides adequate time for development in both an academic and professional sense.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The programme is extremely well supported; frequent support is provided from placement managers, apprenticeship coaches and university tutors. If apprentices ever have a concern, these are able to raised in an open, honest and supportive environment.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The University of Cumbria are readily available to support with assignments or to provide general academic assistance. Queries can be raised via weekly university sessions, module Q&As or by directly contacting your tutor.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
There is noticeable alignment between our university studies and placement work, therefore the two compliment each other and promote development in both areas. Also, certain university modules are co-delivered with BAE Systems, enabling university studying to be directly linked with on-the-job learning.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Apprentices are encouraged to get involved with 'stretch projects' throughout their time on the scheme. These may be smaller projects that do not directly link to your placement work, enabling apprentices to take a leading role in the management of a project, often seeing this progress through the entire project lifecycle. Also, attendance at networking events and participation in social activities is encouraged.
