Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Assisting the team in updating documents, testing components, project work etc. Will move into managing my own project towards end of apprenticeship.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy it. I get to work and gain experience and contextual knowledge of the industry and also go to uni to learn everything to support my work and wider learning. Work and Uni bounce off of each other and help develop each other.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I don't think I could name a skill that hasn't been developed through this programme.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

We were able to match the projects I was doing at work to what i was learning at university meaning that all work / learning that i was doing was relevant and made the process of learning so much easier.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Any problem or issue I have is addressed quickly. Any support that I need for University is also addressed with plenty of people assigned to help me in this role.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have so much support, other apprentices, a mentor, a buddy and a manager and my team. Everybody is approachable and willing to help and interested in the progress.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are plenty of activities and social events held for apprentices and early careers throughout the scheme. Even for those further on in their careers, there is always social activities available throughout the year that employees can get involved with.
