I follow my mentor and watch what they are doing whilst taking notes and then as I progress and feel more confident I try it myself with guidance.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It has been very good, however there is a bit of a lack of structure.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a lot of skills. It has boosted my confidence and people skills, helping me to become less shy. I have learnt logical thinking, and developed skills within using hand tools. It has also helped me to be more disciplined.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I think there could be some improvement on structure of the scheme. Its still good and enjoyable, however there isn't many clear goals or targets to work towards. It would be nice to have a list of placements to go to and a list of skills that need to be attained from each one.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

If there are any problems they are very happy to try and help and resolve. I feel like if I had an issue I know who to talk to and that they would try their best to accommodate and help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I do remote learning which isn't most suitable I think for the course. I haven't had the best experience with the teachers.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have learnt a lot of skills in my HNC however a few of them I think aren't very applicable to the role however it was a good opportunity to learn a new skill.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I helped out with the open evening which I think was a very positive experience as it helped with my confidence. I also took part in an interview. There has been events at work such as the summer barbecue which was a good social event. Around Christmas they held a go karting event which I think helped me to integrate into the team.

Why?
Overall it is a very good company and a very nice working environment. There isn't one person I dislike and all the team leaders and managers are very friendly and accommodating.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Just try your best, effort is recognised.
