Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My day-to-day role is never the same. Since inception my apprenticeship has involved in client facing meetings, which almost always yield actions which could range from desktop work, including report writing experience, financial modelling, data analysis or external work, relating mostly to inspections or socialising. Support is always there when I've needed it, and overall I have enjoyed every moment working for the firm.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
As alluded to in the previous tab, I thoroughly enjoy my job. As much as the apprenticeship programme can be a difficult experience, whether that be due to lack of experience of insight, it is an extremely rewarding process, particularly at a firm such as CBRE, as it fosters a culture which rewards those who are determined to push themselves, regardless of what age they are, which I find to be something quite unique in comparison to the other houses within the industry. I cannot vouch enough for how I have been treated, especially having not come from a real estate background, and I regularly promote the business in a positive way to up and coming aspiring apprentices.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
In my time at CBRE, I have reached heights in my career I would never have imagined, not even considering the fact that I still have 1 year remaining in my degree studies. In my 3 years, I have learnt important agency skills, financial modeling skills and fundamental business strategy skills. I have overseen over £120m worth of capital funding, valued over £500m of residential and commercial property, leased 25,000 sq ft of commercial property, became a trustee of the largest charity in Greater Manchester working underneath Mayor Andy Burnham and presented at 2 roundtables, 1 panel discussion, 5 colleges, 1 school and 4 charity events. I've helped raise over £10,000 for various charities, met countless senior members in local government, built strong relationships with institutional funds, developers and other surveyors. To be short, none of this would be possible without CBRE.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Extremely well organised, and structured. There is rarely any doubt about next steps, whether that is in relation to structured learning events or pay.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
More than enough. Support is always there no matter the issue.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I would say more than enough here as well.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
In this particular instance I would say the work experience from the day-to-day role is vastly more valuable/useful (and arguably more important) than the training provided by the university.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes - in short, there are too many to count. That said, you do have to apply yourself - it's not handed to you.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend CBRE Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
For reasons I have explained in the previous boxes. The firm is ran exceptionally well. You are made to feel part of a family rather than a number on a sheet from day 1. I have met not only some of the most influential individuals in this industry working with/for CBRE but I have come a tremendous way in respect of skills and learning since I have joined and that cannot be overlooked.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to CBRE Group?
Be ready to work hard, be entrepreneurial, be fast, be enthusiastic and most importantly be friendly and ready to collaborate/work within a team.
