Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

the apprenticeship has good amounts of time within the workshop learning. in addition we have theory learning so we can also understand key concepts and learn how and why things work. however, i believe that we need more situational learning as in what we will be doing within our job role on a day to day basis, also i think sometimes we don't have much to do when it comes to the end of modules of work etc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i enjoy the apprenticeship because i learn stuff within the workshop and classroom. i also have made new friends and become a better person. i also enjoy helping people when they may be struggling during tasks wether it's in the workshop or classroom. another aspect i enjoy is meetings about current things occurring in the world wether it's spreading awareness or making us aware of the things going on.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

since starting i have gained skills with valves, pumps gearboxes and some skills in bench fitting which i think has been exiting and fun to do, this is a change from school as being in the workshop is somewhat of a workplace. i also think i have gained skills using laptops. i also have developed my understanding during the theory side of the apprenticeship.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

for the most part the apprenticeship is well structured and organised however, i believe that in some cases we don't have much left to do in the workshop which can be a bit annoying at times since i think that their is still room for improvement and more opportunity to learn things.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

we receive lots is support from our employers. this is because we get lots of people who can support us with gambling mental health and many more issues which may effect us as young adults.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

we get lots is support from our training providers since they help us in the workshop when we are stuck and can show us how to do things when we don't understand.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

lakes collage are good at helping us perform better as i said in the last question lots is help is given when we are struggling or need help with things during our apprenticeship
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

we normally get told about upcoming things we can participate in during the apprenticeship. usually these opportunities are good for networking and allow us to see what people do day to day on site. then sometimes we have social activities where we can have a good time with peers and instructors

this is because i enjoy myself while working and learning to become a nuclear professional. i also believe that my friends would enjoy and take away the same things i do when working here.
