Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
We have one college day a week and the rest in the workshop getting hands on experience. At college we do different units to help us get the knowledge behind the work we will be carrying out while on site.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am really enjoying the apprenticeship. I like that we are gaining both hands on knowledge and classroom knowledge which helps us get a better understanding of the trade we have chosen.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned all about electrical and instrumentation since starting the apprenticeship, and had very little knowledge of it beforehand. I had a small amount of knowledge in mechanical and was able to develop this knowledge by working alongside mechanical apprentices.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
We have lots of support and mental health aiders. We are consistently told who is available to go to for help if needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It helps us to get the knowledge behind the practical work we are doing, which helps us to better understand the work we are doing in the workshop and the work we will be doing while on site.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Sellafield Ltd has lots of groups available if necessary, so that you can find likeminded people that have similar interests and experiences.
