Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role as a business admin in Computacenter consists of processing customer orders, contacting suppliers and customer regarding different orders, networking with internal and external stakeholders.
I work within Computacenter's 'inside sales' department where we have a large amount of customer across the UK
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am given a lot of responsibility within my role which really helps with my development.
I have an amazing team around me who are always offering support and advise on how I can expand my knowledge and skills.
The early careers team at Computacenter help me massively, having regular 1-2-1's and group catch-ups which really make the experience of being an apprentice the best it can be.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a large number of new skills since starting my apprentice scheme back in September.
I have improved on every aspect regarding the working environment, plus the scheme has helped me grow as an individual, inside and out of work. This includes, my confidence growing massively, how I present myself to others and it has helped my general well-being hugely being a part of this scheme with Computacenter.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I have regular 1-2-1's with my course tutor, online and in-person. Every time I ask for support, it is always given to me without failure.
We had a 2 month induction training scheme set up for us to really help establish a great understanding of what our role will involve and what our future can hold, even before properly being set up in our roles.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Seen as I only completed my A-levels in 2025, I have needed a lot of support with my transition into Computacenter. Being in an office environment was something completely new to me back in September but the people at Computacenter really helped me to transition into this new environment super quickly.
Whenever I ask for support, it is always fulfilled to the highest quality and I am not left feeling like I am a nuisance for reaching out.
I am also offered support which I haven't even asked for. If the people around me have an idea on how to improve my experience, they will always go ahead and do it without hesitation as it is clear they want the absolute best for me and my fellow apprentices around the company.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider for my apprenticeship is Babington. My team and I have very regular sessions with our tutor who is always there to offer any support if needed.
We have calls with them every few weeks as a group, followed by 1-2-1 individual training sessions to prepare us for our end point assessment.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The courses that I complete as a part of my training (through my training provider) gives me the opportunity to delve deeper into the company's processed and regulations, helping me to gain a greater understanding for the business than I would have if I didn't do these pieces oif course work.
Some examples of this is when I am asked to gather research on topics such as the different policies put in place (social media, health and safety).
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Something that us apprentices at Computacenter are encouraged to do are 'Outreach Events'.
These are events where we are raising awareness to younger people, who are still in education, not only just about Computacenter, but about apprenticeship schemes and how they work.
I myself have already taken part in multiple Outreach Events which have really helped me to push myself and talk to a large number of people about the scheme I am apart of.
I have also attended various networking events such as Computacenter's yearly charity football event, the inside sales 2025 conference and multiple lunch& learns with our suppliers.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Computacenter to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Computacenter have a very people-centred culture where everyone is friendly and approachable. They create a very comfortable environment for apprentices who may have only just left education, understanding that the apprentices are here to learn and grow, as well as doing their assigned role.
I have never had a day where I have been unhappy to go into work due to the amazing people who work there and offer their upmost support everyday.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Computacenter?
Computacenter is a very people-focused business who hire apprentices who show a genuine passion for being there and given it their all. Showing them that you are a nice and approachable individual who is keen to grow is very important and will get you very far if you do end up landing an apprenticeship opportunity with them.
