Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Working in my office, with different ILS teams on projects carrying out tasks to ensure that the ships are getting the correct maintenance scheduled to ensure that they are maintained and supported throughout there lifecycle.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy working with the different ILS teams within my office and with the ILS teams that are not based in Portsmouth to complete different tasks each day. I also get the opportunity to travel such as traveling to Scotland.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many skills so far during my apprenticeship such as new ways of presenting information to people including managers and using different software to display this. I have also learnt how our ILS Team work to ensure that our job is doing correctly on time. I have also learnt mechanical and electrical engineering. This is just some of the skills that I have learnt.

I receive support from my line manager, placements managers if I need it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

When completing courses in the Skills Development Centre (SDC) for my qualifications, the support is there to ensure that you are given the correct information to relate to when writing reports.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualifications received will help with throughout my career. Qualifications also help in my role as it ensures that you have understanding of the information and systems that your looking to carry out your job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I have ran the Junior Leaders Field Gun Competition for the past 2 years and was team Skipper (captain) last year. I also attend social activities which are held within my office. I also had the opportunity to help with the 24-25 and 25-26 cohort inductions.

Because I have leant a lot throughout my apprenticeship so far. The opportunities within BAE Systems and it is a really good company.
