Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

During my first year I spent time in the skills development centre learning mechanical, electrical and bench fitting skills. I am now in the office and rotating around ILS placements, I have completed my maintenance engineering, tech pubs and design for support placement now.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The support from my direct manager is great and I have had opportunities to visit different sites and travel which is enjoyable.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt so much about supportability, the maritime business and general engineering skills

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Communication could be improved, organisation of things like courses is not the best but there are lots of apprentices that are unaffected by courses changing however my specific programme has to be rearranged each time.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

They are very good at providing help where needed
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

we have a set assessor which we go to when there are problems but all skills coaches are available to help if required.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

lots of stretch assignments available, field gun, volunteering roles and some good socials
