Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Practical work: soldering, assembly, wiring, testing. Digital work: PCB design, schematic design, 3D design, excel, report writing, BOMs, databases, filling forms, Pugh matrix. College work: assignments, lessons once a week, practical testing.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the variety within my programme, as well as the flexibility to cater what work I get involved in to what I found personally engaging. I feel fully supported and entirely welcomed.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes: soldering, assembly, PCB/Schematic/3D design, excel VBA, Arduino C++, report layout, Pugh matrix, use of heat gun, wiring, and more.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well structured to ensure that the apprentices get a range of experience throughout the different areas within the company.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive full support, including multiple people to go through for any issues, as well as specific persons for certain problems (safeguarding, security, etc). They provide as many resources as they have, and are willing to go to lengths to find aid me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

They have a range of resources ready, will provide personal help, provide several people to go to for aid, and are always available to communicate with (even when not on the training site).
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I believe the training from the training provider created a basis for most of the work I do on site at my workplace, and has been a key foundation in my overall understanding of the industry.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are several extra-curricular activities provided at work, open to any and all. Charity events, several sports events, company Q&As, theatre group, talk sessions, etc.

Why?
The company treats its employees very well when it comes to benefits, the environment and work culture is welcoming and encouraging, the training is engaging but not too intense or stressful, there is a variety of roles and career paths of which do not get blocked off at any point of your career.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
