Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
The role provides great opportunities to interact and communicate with a wide range of customers that come to the DWP. The environment the DWP provides promotes equity, inclusion and diversity. The colleague I work with come from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures, making every day a learning day. I have learnt a lot of employable skills with the DWP, and learnt so much about various cultures as part of my work. The training offered by the DWP, allows developing skills that can be applied within or outside the DWP.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The Programme held many interesting modules and the staff were very accommodating to my accessibility needs. They were friendly when I needed advice or clarification on certain phrases / words due to my dyslexia. The support I received was above and beyond. Excellent Customer Service.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt many management, organisational and communication skills from the program, and continue to learn more with my employer. I believe the program aids tremendously if you are looking to develop your personal and professional skills, in the pursuit of bettering yourself.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme, clearly laid out the timeline and expectations of the course. From day 1 the benefits that can come out from the modules were clear, concise and easy to understand even for me! Any sections I was not sure about, the staff were more than happy to aid me in understanding the sections and assisted with ensuring I had understood modules I had covered previously with regular revision sessions.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive tremendous support from my employers, who encouraged the development opportunity. My employers provided regular catch-up sessions to see what support they could offer and asking how my development was going? wanting feedback of the course and anything my employers can do better for future attendees, even 1 year after I completed my apprenticeship course, I often get asked to provide feedback on my experience and recommendations for courses they should offer in the future, as a graduate of a course offered. The need for constant improvement to developing their employees is a feature I greatly respect in the DWP.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The training providers provided a lot of support with developing my knowledge towards the qualification, assisting with revision sessions, catch-up sessions, clarification sessions, additional material ect.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The programme taught me a lot of beneficial skills which I apply on a weekly basis sometimes daily basis (depending on the type of work being completed).
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are plenty of networking and extracurricular events that take place either by the employers or by a organisation called Hassra which works closely with the DWP in offering many amazing events for our agents.
