Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role includes building and testing all different sorts of products. I find faults withib the product and discuss the best way forward. Often i carry out repairs to products.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The job and work is enjoybale and having different placments means that you are not stuck doing the saem role for 4 years, you are able to change and learn a lot of new skills from a variety of people. Sometimes there are slow days that there is not a lot of work to be done and as an apprentice you aren't always given the most exciting jobs.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt lots of new skills such as soldering, fine motor skills and be able to read adn interrept engeering plans.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The course is well structured starting out with 6 months full time at college in which time you bond with your fellow apprentices and do hands on work such as machie shop skills and electronic skills. When back on site you are subject to placments lasting around 4 months in different departments, 4 months is a good amount of time when you can have a sense of a team but also learn a lot about the role and product and having time to put that knowledge to the test.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Progress reviews are held every 12-weeks allowing for the chance and oppurtunity to share any problems or struggles you are facing and the comapnt are great at accomdating your needs. It is not just limited to these reviews as any team can you reach out to the early careers team for extra support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The comapny are great at allowing for adequate time to do in office course work such as the diploma and if you are falling behind they give your the oppurtunity to have a day to sit and work away and not have to worry about the placment.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qaulitifcations allow to cement any learning on the job and also enhanche your knowledge of engineering systems that can benefit you in your role when it comes to manufacturing, testing and fault finding products.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

They are a fantastic comapany with great benefits, great oppurtunities and great support. I have felt welcomed and part of a team and not looked down on as an appretnice.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Leonardo?
Do research and find out what you can about the comapany to take forwards into your application and interview.
