Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
- Collecting rental evidence and market data
- Assisting with rent reviews and lease renewals
- Drafting letters, reports, and negotiation documents
- Attending inspections and recording property details
- Supporting senior surveyors with casework and client tasks
- Updating trackers, managing files, and completing admin tasks
- Studying and developing APC competencies
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
- I like the balance of practical experience and learning new skills.
- At times it can feel quite time‑pressured, especially when university deadlines and work - commitments coincide.
- Overall, I’m very satisfied, but managing workload peaks is the main challenge.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
- I’ve improved my technical knowledge, confidence with lease analysis, and ability to interpret property data.
- My communication, organisation, and report‑writing skills have also strengthened through regular use.
- Overall, I’ve grown both professionally and personally through hands‑on experience and structured learning.

How well organised/structured is your programme?
- The rotations give broad exposure across different areas, which supports well‑rounded development.
- Off‑the‑job learning is planned effectively and links closely to my day‑to‑day responsibilities.
- Overall, the structure makes it easy to apply what I learn directly to the job.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
- I’m given regular 1‑to‑1 time, guidance, and opportunities to ask questions.
- My team is very understanding around university deadlines and gives me flexibility when needed. Within the wider business, the network is very strong and I feel open to query anything.
- Overall, I feel fully supported both in my role and through my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
- I have a dedicated Apprenticeships Outcome Officer who checks in regularly and helps guide my progress.
- They provide clear information, feedback, and are easy to contact when I need help.
- Overall, the support is consistent and really helps me stay on track with my qualifications.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
- The modules give me useful background knowledge on landlord and tenant law, valuation principles, and professional practice.
- It helps me understand the reasoning behind the tasks I’m doing and builds confidence when working on live cases.
- Overall, the training provider’s content strengthens my technical understanding and enhances my performance in the role.
