Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As I am only in my first year, I have so far completed my first three‑month rotation in Communications, where I supported both internal and external content. I have now moved into the Events team, helping with event planning, logistics, guest management, and on‑the‑day delivery. I will then rotate into Marketing, assisting with campaign planning, content creation, and market research. This will be followed by Digital Marketing, where I will support social media activity, analytics, website updates, and digital asset production. After completing these rotations in my first year, I will repeat them in six‑month periods to further develop my experience. These rotations will give me broad exposure across the full marketing and communications function.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I’m really enjoying the programme — it’s varied, supportive, and helping me build confidence and skills.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes — I’ve learnt several new skills and developed existing ones. I’ve improved my communication and writing skills through content creation, strengthened my organisation and attention to detail through planning and publishing tasks, and developed new skills in event coordination, teamwork, and using tools that I had not seen before. So far, each rotation has helped me grow both professionally and personally.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is well organised and structured. I have a set study day each week for my university work, and the teams are always checking in to make sure I’m managing everything and not feeling overwhelmed. The rotations are clear and supportive, which makes the whole experience feel manageable and well planned.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive strong support from my training provider. I have an assigned tutor who holds monthly check‑in calls with me, offering guidance on my progress and any upcoming assignments. They’re always available if I need help, which makes it much easier to stay on track with my qualifications alongside my work rotations.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that my qualification really supports me in performing better in my role. The coursework helps me understand the theory behind the tasks I’m doing day‑to‑day, and I can apply what I learn directly to each rotation. The modules give useful context around marketing principles, communication styles, and digital skills, which helps me feel more confident and capable in my work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are plenty of extra‑curricular activities to get involved in. There are regular social events, volunteering opportunities, sports club activities and wider networking events across the business. There are also wellbeing initiatives and groups you can join, which make it easy to meet people from different teams. Overall, there’s a good mix of social and professional activities to get involved in alongside my day‑to‑day role.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend CBRE Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend CBRE to a friend because it’s a supportive place to work with great opportunities to learn and grow. There’s also a large younger cohort, which makes it easy to feel part of a group of people going through the same experience. It creates a friendly, social environment where you can make plenty of new connections and feel supported both professionally and personally.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to CBRE Group?
My advice for anyone applying to CBRE is to research the company so you understand its values, but don’t worry if you don’t have a background in real estate — it’s not expected. Be yourself in the assessment centres and show genuine enthusiasm and curiosity. CBRE values people who are willing to learn and get involved.
