Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
The role is a 4 year degree apprenticeship, rotating around various service lines within my office. For example, valuations, property management, lease consultancy and agency to name a couple. I get the opportunity to shadow, learn and work 4 days a week in office with my teams. The only reason its a 4 star not 5 is because some of the regional offices don't offer as many service lines as the London office.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The programme I'm on is a hands-on, involved and varying apprenticeship. I get a good balance of time at my desk and time meeting clients, conducting site visits and more. There is lots of opportunity to network, travel and get involved.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt lots of new skills so far. Particularly in the first year apart from all the team specific real estate knowledge I have gathered. I have really developed my measurement skills, communication and teamworking skills. The apprenticeship gives you so many opportunities to develop soft skills that will boost your career no matter the industry.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is very well organised, the dedicated NextGen team are brilliant communicators with events, charity opportunities and lots of training for the APC, communication skills and teamworking/ adjusting to corporate life.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive lots of support from my employer, I have dedicated time each week to have catch ups with my manager. A good space to talk about work to general office advice or concerns. There is NextGen representatives for the apprentices in each office who look after the NextGen hiring and offer support if needed. Also, the main NextGen team in London and CBRE itself are very supportive and inclusive.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I'm given dedicated study time to work towards my degree, the NextGen team have regular meetings with the university if there's any issues or queries from either end. I receive lots of support and advice with any university questions alongside a very responsive and helpful apprenticeship outcome officer at the university.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualification has modules that directly link to the work I complete and my day-to-day. In order to take my APC the degree I study is crucial to my success. All the learning is helpful.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There is an excellent breadth of events, sports, volunteering/charity events, Junior Boards and networking provided and encouraged. Particularly among the apprentices and graduates we are encouraged to get involved and make lots of good impressions on those within and outside the business.
