Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am a HR apprentice that has gone into the group and my role will cover 2 placements. My first and current placement is in learning and development, this role is essentially providing me with the skills I would need to become a designer or project manager within the learning team should I choose to take that route with my career. We look at the organisations different areas and pick out where we can improve current learning in terms of modality or create new and stronger learning to support our colleagues.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I personally like the fact we get to explore different avenues of HR and we get a day a week to focus on our apprenticeship, this really helps with the work life balance as we can separate our study time from our work time. We also get pushed lots of side of desk opportunities to really grasp a holistic view of HR and how it operates.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have been completely upskilled on a variety of things, from learning corporate language to improving my skills on microsoft as well as experimenting with design tools that I otherwise would have never have used. I also think my leadership skills are quickly developing alongside my presentation skills

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The structure makes sense, there is a clear timeline.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My line manager allows me to have extra study time if I am behind and Lloyds as a whole is a very inclusive place to work and they really encourage you to do your best and succeed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My training provider is great, he allows for extensions and also takes the time to go through topics in a bitesized manner which helps to digest information and helps make big topics more manageable.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualification so far has definitely gave me a greater overall knowledge of HR and how to make informed decisions as well as how the business actually operates, offering a diverse perspective beyond my own department.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are several opportunities to network such as socials for grads and apprentices etc
