Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I spend 4 days of my week in role and one day studying, researching or shadowing for my apprenticeship.
My role consists of supporting apprentices, organising events such as National Apprenticeship Week, Graduation Celebration events and award ceremonies.
I also oversee colleagues registering their interest in apprenticeships.
My role nicely coincides with my apprenticeship learning. i feel appropriately stretched and know I have the support I need to give things a go.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy my programme. My coach is very supportive. I have weekly online sessions with him where he covers course content and facilitates discussions.
My programme is assessed throughout by a series of assignments. I have the resources readily available to support me with these. At the end of my programme, I will have a presentation and professional discussion. l am not worried about this as I know that I will be given the support I need by my coach and my line manager.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
A skill I have learnt is 'Project Management'. I am now much more confident in seeing a project from start to finish, meeting deadlines, setting expecftations and offering support to the team. I enjoy managing projects and feel that this is something I would like to do post-apprenticeship, too.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The structure of the programme is clear. I know when my teaching sessions are. I know when my assignments are due so I am able to plan my time ahead of schedule. I also know where to go if I need support.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A lot. My line manager is great. She often checks in to see how my course is going. I know that I can go to her if I need any support or if my workload is ever too much. I also have a very supportive cohort - we get on really well!
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have regular check ins with my tutor and line manager where we discuss my progress. My tutor is quick to respond via email to any queries. He sends resources for sessions through ahead of time so apprentices have the option to look through first.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I can easily see the correlation between what the programme teaches and my role. The Eisenhower Matrix is an example of when I have learnt about prioritisation as part of my course and then carried it into my everyday role - absolute game changer!
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Wellington Place has a 'campus-type' vibe. The selection of offices that are located there have a great programme of events open to them. E.g. pilates/yoga/seasonal crafts/food markets, etc. (pilates sessions and other activities are free).
Within LBG in Leeds there are clubs like 'art club' every other Monday. We also have play stations!
'Aspire' is our next generation talent social group and they organise activities, socials, lunches, seminars, webinars, balls, etc.
There is always something to do if you want it - equally, if you prefer not to join in these activities, there is no pressure to!

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Lloyds Banking Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
LBG has around 60 000 colleagues so there is always someone to learn from. Wellbeing and flexibility are genuinely important to LBG. I appreciate that.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
Even though LBG gets a lot of applications, don't let this put you off. They have to offer the opportunities to some people... so why not you? Never let the fear of failure stop you!
