Systems Engineering Degree Apprentice Review

As a Systems Engineering Degree Apprentice, my role involves supporting the development and integration of complex systems. On a day-to-day basis, this includes assisting with requirements analysis, contributing to technical documentation, supporting system design activities, and collaborating with different engineering teams. I also take part in meetings and reviews, which helps me understand how different elements of a project come together across the full system lifecycle.

The programme is well structured, with clear expectations and consistent support throughout. There’s a good balance between hands-on work and learning, which has helped me steadily build my skills and confidence.

I receive consistent support, especially when learning something new. At the same time, I’m encouraged to take initiative and solve problems independently, which has helped me build confidence.

I receive a good level of support from my training provider. My tutor is responsive and provides clear feedback on assignments, and regular progress reviews help keep me on track with my qualification.

The qualification has supported my development by strengthening my foundational knowledge. While not every module directly links to my daily tasks, it has helped me understand the wider context of my role and improve my overall performance.
