Day to day i overcome new challenges and ways of means to become a successful carpenter , not only does that mean i have to put in the hard work , effort , time but also my mentor does the same. and without LJ none of this would be possible

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The feeling of doing something new can be somewhat overwhelming but when your mentor explains that steps and the process of which things happen it just makes the job and stress easier.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I’ve learned resilience and perseverance, to always find a way to keep things to their standard if something goes wrong , social skills have been improved when meeting new people on different sites , working with different mentors , meeting people at the LJ office.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The team at LJ always find a way to make sure people do not go without, Rarely ever is there any flaws in the way their work system works or how the contractors perform

How much support do you receive from your employer?

The team at LJ may seem harsh to other people who see on the outside , but realistically that’s wrong. All they want to do is make you become a better version of yourself by making sure your work is done before the deadline , making sure your tools are fully up to date and making sure that you always have work to go to.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Our online lessons every fortnight on a monday morning teach us a great way of site responsibility, healthcare , finances, management, education. this provides support to those who are not so comfortable on construction sites. This helps towards our qualifications and not only that but also making sure we have a mentor who is willing to teach and they make sure we are willing to learn.
