Marketing Assistant Review

My role varies on a day to day basis but normally includes a team morning meeting to start the day, this catches all team members up to speed on any projects or news etc and gives you a chance to ask any questions you might have on current projects you are working on. I then normally have an allocated part of the day for social media whether it is post creation, collaborations with RateMyPlacement or social media reports. I also get involved in the social and charity events and have organised and ran many of these throughout the year. I also get involved with design and imagery for videos, posts or infographics as well as sorting and finding data. Writing blogs for both our placement site and corporate site is something else I have been involved with during my placement.

I was given a lot of responsibility throughout my whole placement and this started really early on in my placement. I was in charge of our corporate and placement social media channels, involved in redesigning our sales slide dec which is presented in all demos and many other tasks.

I have learnt new design skills by using software such as Vyond, Camtasia and Canva which I hadn't previously had any experience with. I have also developed skills such as presentation skills, communication and team working throughout my time at ProspectSoft and have been hugely supported by my manager if there was anything new I wanted to learn. I was also able to complete some of HubSpot's online qualifications during my placement.

I received a lot of support throughout my whole placement from my line manager who I would have frequent calls with, team morning meetings, designated 1-1 calls and countless teams messages throughout the year. If I required any further help with tasks I had been set my manager was always on hand to assist with further instructions, help videos or team calls as well as providing me with many guides and help docs for me.

ProspectSoft is a very young and friendly culture to be a part of and even when working from home the team always made an effort through online calls and company socials. There is a weekly Beer Friday call which all of the wider commercial team join every Friday afternoon online. The marketing team is an extremely welcoming and supportive team making it easy to ask any questions, progress during your placement and enjoy your year!

I have enjoyed my 13 months at ProspectSoft and have really loved working in the Marketing team at ProspectSoft. With the marketing team being a close knit and supportive team I have been able to develop both my marketing skills and soft skills throughout my placement year. Being part of a small team has also created a very approachable and helpful environment to work in and I have really enjoyed my year in the team!
