Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
An audit associate is a junior member of an audit engagement team, helping the team with performing tasks in the audit of various companies across many industries. Auditing is testing parts of the financial statements, specifically cash, PPE and equity for audit associates. This involves checking client workings, reperforming calculations, and verifying amounts to trusted sources. It is a challenging and complex role.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Thoroughly enjoy the role and the challenges we face, constantly adapting and providing questioning mindsets, and learning on the job everyday.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
All of my accounting skills have been learnt here, as well as understanding of specific accounting software, but also general IT software and how to utilise these to maximise efficiency and excellency.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
All associates join together in a cohort, so there is good structure and community, as well as being assigned a more senior associate buddy who helps you settle in. Being then assigned a people manager and career coach to handle admin and audit related queries and growth.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Consistent check ins with both my career coach and people manager help make me feel supported throughout the year.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
BPP provide frequent check-ins and are good at responding to emails when I have any queries.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Wouldn't be able to perform well in my role without my qualification, as I would not have such deep understanding of accounting and audit without exams.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
We have sports and social events of which I am on the committee. We organise monthly lunch and evening events to boost social interaction across the office, some events are sport related and others are not. This is in addition to external networking events which we are able to attend throughout the year.
