Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work in Material Design in Global Product Development, between the powder science and particle characterisation and image analysis teams. This involves using a range of analytical instruments to characterise particles and assess physical and bulk properties of both API, drug product and excipients.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

This is a great programme, I feel very supported as an apprentice in a large company

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt about the basics of material design and where my team sits in the drug making process as a whole. I have learnt how to use several different analytical instruments as well as image analysis software.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

There is loads of support available and I am kept up to date on what my supervisors/manager want to work on with me. The university course is also very well organised.

There is loads of support available. I have a manager, two supervisors, a tutor and an apprentice support lead.

The course is well structured to fit apprentice workloads.

By understanding the fundamental concepts of chemistry it helps to understand the principles of material design and vice versa.
